Year 7 & 8 Trip to Blacklands Farm
Year 7 and 8 visited Blackland Farm on Thursday 21st November 2024. It was a cold , but fun day out for everyone. The students engaged with abseiling , rock climbing and many other fun activities. What a great day out!
6th Form Bank of England Trip
Some of our Sixth form recently visited the Bank of England museum as part of their learning about financial literacy. While we were there we looked at money through the ages, the future of money and took part in a quiz about the cost of living and the need to budget. We were also able to hold and lift (13KG) a gold bar worth approximately £792,000.
6th Form Trip to see Wellcome Collections
Recently some of our sixth form travelled to the Wellcome collection to see the exhibition 'Jason and the adventure of 254'. The artwork displayed the artists battle with ill health and societies attitudes towards disability; our pupils really enjoyed the show and it raised many interesting questions amongst the group.
Elm Court Trip to Littlehampton Beach - July 2024
All Students & Staff had a fabulous day out at the Seaside in Littlehampton. They played games, had a picnic and a great time was had by all! To see a video of staff and students having fun, please click HERE
6th Form Trip to UpCycle London
Our 6th form bicycle group that have been working with UpCycle London had the opportunity to try out BMX on the track at Brockwell park. They had tuition with a proper BMX coach to teach them the correct techniques. Everyone had a really great time and the pupils were pleased to try something new.
6th Form visit Sky TV Studios
Recently the 6th form had the opportunity to visit the Sky Up academy and the Sky TV studios in West London. The pupils were able to see working studios and meet people who work in Television. The highlight of the trip was going into small groups and working in separate studios - working the cameras, autocue, editing and talking to camera - which were then put together to produce a news report. Everyone enjoyed themselves and learnt something about working in TV.
Grangewater Outdoor Education Centre
At the end of June a large group from the sixth form enjoyed a one-night camping trip as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award. Everyone had a really great time, working together as a team and learning new skills. The group were able to enjoy rock-climbing, abseiling, canoeing, kayaking and archery; and for many, it was the first time spending a night in a tent. Everyone is looking forward to going again next year!
International Women's Day - Friday 8th March 2024
Some of our Year 11 girls are part of a girl's group intervention where we do work on things such as self-esteem, boundaries, conflict resolution, friendships and girlhood. Today they went on a trip to the Tate Britain as part of International Women's Day to view their art exhibition titled 'Women in Revolt' which featured feminist art by over 100 women artists working in the UK. It shines a spotlight on how networks of women used radical ideas and rebellious methods to make an invaluable contribution to British culture.
Year 8 Trip to British Museum
Some of our Year 8 pupils travelled to the British museum to see objects they had been learning about in Humanities. Whilst there, they were able to handle historic objects including a stone age hand axe, a roman bowl and coins from ancient Greece and the pirates' favourite treasure, "pieces of eight".
Dragon's Den Social Enterprise Competition
For the second year running the 6th Form entered the Lambeth Dragons' Den social enterprise competition. They won two awards; for the best entrepreneurial project – Bicycle Upcycling and the best environmental project – Bag of Life (in a Bag for Life) encouraging local community to make the area greener.
6th Form to East London Connect at UCL
Some of our 6th form have been working with an organisation called East London Connect; looking at future options available to them when they move on from Elm Court school. They have enjoyed workshops with university students and various visits. This week the group travelled to UCL and enjoyed a graduation ceremony that celebrated their completion of the course.
6th Form - Digital Media Students
During a hot day in May, students took the Macs to the school garden. They are using iMovie software to edit and put together a film about a ballerina.
Red Nose Day
Elm Court School students participated in a car wash event as part of our many Red Nose Day activities to raise money for charity.
Year 8 Trip to Peckham Police Station
Students were given the opportunity to speak with police officers about the working world and find out information about what their role is about. Students were engaged and asked lots of questions.
KS3 Football Team (South London Special League) - 24th January 2024
Thank you to the KS3 Football team for representing the school at the South London Special League. The students demonstrated their creativity, persistence and teamwork throughout the day. They also demonstrated fair play and acts of kindness towards their opponents. The team really enjoyed the day and gained a lot of experience they can use in future sports competitions.
6th Form Visit to Western Riverside Waste Authority
A group of our Sixth for travelled out to Wandsworth to see how waste material was recycled and processed. Pupils were able to see how recycled material was sorted by type and they saw what happened once it had been separated. Pupils were encouraged by the visit as they are recycling much useful material in their own social enterprises at school.
6th Form Visit to the British Library
During November the sixth form travelled to the British Library to take part in a book workshop. The pupils were taken around the library and shown many of the important books and manuscripts held in their collection. The pupils were then taught about the history of books and shown how to construct their own book, which they were allowed to take home.

Odd Socks Day! - Tues. 12th November 2024
As part of Anti-Bullying week, staff and students came to school wearing Odd Socks! Everyone was united in joining together to show that it's okay to be different and to stand up against bullying and discrimination.
6th Form Trip to Guildhall Gallery
Some of our 6th form enjoyed a visit to the Guildhall Gallery recently, to see the exhibition 'Kaleidoscope London' by Anne Desmet. The pupils went along to experience art that shows a different way of looking at familiar London sights. Our pupils came back with some new ideas and inspiration for their social enterprise course.
6th Form Visit to "Roots & Shoots"
Every Wednesday some of our 6th Form attend a course at Roots and Shoots College, which is an independent, award-winning educational and environmental charity based in Kennington, South London. The pupils learn about horticulture and get the opportunity to experience a taste of further education. It has grown to become a well-established and respected vocational training organisation with biodiverse wildlife gardens, offering a safe haven for both people and nature to flourish.

Year 7 Trip to LegoLand
Our Year 7 Class had a fun-filled day at LegoLand. The pupils supported each other in reading maps, facing fears and using apps to pre-book rides.
Elm Court at Paul Smith's Covent Garden Shop
One of our 6th form pupils loves making K'nex models and had the opportunity for some of them to be displayed in Paul Smith's Covent Garden shop. The whole 6th form travelled up to central London to see them in store. We were all very impressed.
Lambeth Country Show - 8th June 2024
This year Elm Court students shared their talents as part of the Lambeth Sounds Showcase at the Lambeth Country Show, Brockwell Park. The free community festival was celebrating its 50th anniversary. Our students made us very proud by performing covers and original music on the Village Green stage, getting a huge round of applause from the crowd.
Peckham Town FC v Ashford (& Elm Court School!)
Students went on a trip to watch Peckham Town FC play their final game of the season against Ashford as part of the term's sport theme. They embraced a roller coaster ride of emotions and were enthusiastic supporters. The game resulted in a 1:1 draw but the students left as winners.
6th Form visit Herne Hill Gym
Some of our 6th form are working on a project with UpCycle London and had the opportunity to travel to a gym in Herne Hill to work with a top sports physiotherapist. Everybody had a good time and they learnt about avoiding injuries during cycling and the importance of looking after their bodies
6th Form visited Tate Modern Museum
Our 6th form recently visited the Tate Modern to explore careers in galleries and to enjoy some modern art. Whilst there they were able to participate in a public work of art which will be hanging in the main turbine hall from July. Go along to check out our fine work.
Year 7 Trip to Crystal Palace Park
7GG visited Crystal Palace park to see the dinosaurs as part of their humanities studies. The weather was fine and everyone had a really enjoyable time - fortunately the dinosaurs remained still enough for us all to have a good look!
Maths Like Skills - Year 10 Go Shopping
Year 10 pupils on a trip to Brixton market and Tesco supermarket to buy fruit and vegetables for school breakfasts
Elm Court School Sleepover - 22 March 2024
Year 7 Students spent the night at Elm Court for a fun sleepover! They enjoyed pizzas, movies and even a magician! A great time was had by all.
Spirit of the Wild
On 20th March 2024, Elm Courts hosted The Spirit of the Wild group with their amazing animals as part of the Science Week celebration. The workshop allowed our pupils to interact with the animals and learn basic information about them including keeping and feeding them. Some of the animals were snakes, meerkats, bats, chinchillas, millipedes and many more.
6th Form Trip to Willmott Dixon Interiors
This week members of our Sixth form visited Willmott Dixon Interiors to experience life in a busy construction office and explore different job opportunities. The pupils talked to people involved in different areas of work and were able to engage in activates to test their construction skills.
KS4 Football Team (South London Special League) - 17th January 2024
A very well done to the KS4 football team who represented the school in the South London Special League on Wednesday.
They showed a much improved team performance since the last tournament. This resulted in many goals being scored, excellent saves from the goalkeeper and lots of fun had by all.
All the students showed excellent behaviour, a positive attitude and good listening skills. We hope the KS3 team can show the same qualities in their competition this week.
6th Form Visit to the office of Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP
On Fri 24th Nov 2023 a group of 6th Form students went to visit Bell Ribeiro - Addy MP for Streatham to deliver a flower pot made of red plastic bottle tops and talk to her about our Social Enterprise projects.
6th Form Visit to Brixton Windmill
Recently the whole Sixth form visited Brixton windmill to investigate opportunities for work experience. The are possibilities for our pupils to help at a cafe, do some gardening and even grind flour.
